Fitting into their lives Fitting into their lives
A survey of three studies about youth media usage

This report from the Newspaper Association of America Foundation reviews the findings of three studies:
"Generation M2: Media in the Lives of 8- to 18-Year-Olds," by the Kaiser Family Foundation;

"How Teens Use Media," by the Nielsen Company; and

"Social Media & Mobile Internet use Among Teens and Young Adults," by the Pew Internet & American Life Project.
It is a continuation of the research into the media habits of young people that the NAA Foundation and the Media Management Center did in Teens Know What They Want from Online News: Do You?

The report concludes that media usage is consuming the lives of teens, that they are dividing their media usage among different activities and platforms, and that they are furious multi-taskers. To reach teens, media providers need to have differently tailored offerings in multiple places - a lot of work but also a lot of opportunities.
