When the Center
opened its doors as the Newspaper Management Center in 1989, it
set out to offer quality executive education for newspaper leaders.
It designed
a curriculum that focused directly on the skills of successful newspaper
executives. Then the Center built a team of top instructors who
understand media to teach its curriculum of strategy, leadership
and business topics. And last, the Center created an open, relaxed
learning atmosphere where up-and-coming executives can network and
share ideas.
Although the
Center has broadened its expertise to include broadcast and magazines,
its newspaper roots run deep.
Advanced
Executive Program
The Advanced
Executive Program is an intense, four-week seminar aimed at senior
leaders in newspapers and other media executives. The program is
based on the successful executive education programs at top business
schools, but tailored for the needs of newspaper and other media
executives. The core curricula for the program are four pillars:
Strategy, leadership, marketing, and journalism.
