Sharon
Peters, Ph.D.
Newsroom employees say they want it and aren't getting
it. Supervisors avoid giving feedback because they are afraid of
hurting feelings or making staffers angry. They also wonder if it
will do any good. Many don't know how to give constructive criticism
(or praise). As a result, employees don't improve, they think supervisors
have low standards and resentment builds. Peters has good tips on
how to give feedback correctly.
