For the past nine years, as AEP class participants,
you've experienced a curriculum focused on media strategy, marketing,
journalism values and content, leadership and interpersonal skills.
You've interacted both in class and in group activities outside
of the classroom. Friendships have been formed, ideas exchanged,
and business decisions discussed at length, perhaps in the friendly
confines of the Hotel
Orrington.
Now it's time to celebrate the tenth year, the
anniversary of the first class of AEP back in 1993. It's time to
come back to Evanston where it all began, to see and catch up with
classmates not only from your class, but from media companies across
nine other classes. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity
to hear some of the latest ideas taking place in the world of media.
The focus of the curriculum for the weekend is
over-the-top customer service, which Readership Institute research
has shown to be one of the four cornerstones to building newspaper
readership.
Author and consultant Andrew Sobel (Clients
for Life) will kick off the weekend on March 28 with insights
into best practice companies outside the media world. On the following
day, we will share information on what customer service means for
readers and advertisers.
The weekend will feature classes, presentations, brainstorming
and plenty of time to interact with your fellow alums, participants
in the 2003 class, our faculty and our graduate students who are
studying media management. There will also be time for your class
to meet for meals and drinks as well.
A reunion is only fun if your friends and colleagues also attend.
We have priced this weekend with that goal in mind: The cost for
the first person from a property is $2000. The second person from
the same property is $1500. Spouses are FREE!
We'll have quality content in the class sessions,
excellent accommodations at the Omni, and delicious food at the
Allen Center. All you have to do is pack up the warmth and friendship
you've brought to all the AEP classes and come to Northwestern.
