Steven S. Duke
is project manager with the Readership Institute at the Center.
He has worked with the Center since 1999 as project manager for
the Editorial Leadership Initiative and director of publications.
Books produced for the Center under his direction include: Rx
for New Product Success, Future Voice, Caught in the
Middle, and Managing Newsroom Employees.
Prior to joining
the Center, Duke spent 26 years at newspapers and magazines. He
was editor of Digital Chicago magazine, deputy managing editor
of the Chicago Sun-Times, and served in various editorial
capacities at the Chicago Daily News, Sacramento Bee
and Cincinnati Enquirer.
He was a member
of the executive committee of the Illinois Associated Press for
five years, and has served as an adjunct lecturer at Northwestern
University's Medill School of Journalism.
Duke has a
B.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School
of Journalism and is a graduate of the Center's Advanced Executive
Program.
