Suzanne W. Peck, President of Peck Consulting, consults with executives of Fortune 500 companies on managing diversity for competitive advantage. Her work involves development of diversity strategies, employee and customer research, facilitation of diversity councils, design of company-specific diversity, EEO and harassment prevention educational programs and executive coaching.
Clients for whom she has worked include: SBC/Ameritech; JPMorgan Chase; Disney, GE; Hewlett Packard; Ispat Inland Steel; McDonald's; MCI; Monsanto; PepsiCo; Quaker Oats; Sears, Roebuck and Co.; Thomson Information/Publishing Group; Grainger; Heller Financial/GE; Magazine Publishers of America; Allied Signal; and Union Carbide.
Peck is a faculty member of the Media Management Center, the executive education program at Northwestern University that is jointly sponsored by the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and the Medill School of Journalism. In this role, she teaches the diversity sequence in the Advance Executive Programs and the Management Development Programs.
Peck's experience includes 18 years as a Principal and Diversity Practice Leader of Towers Perrin, a management consulting firm with 9,000 consultants in 80 offices around the world. While at Towers Perrin, she managed the Human Resources and Communication line of business for the Chicago office.
Before joining Towers Perrin, Peck founded the International Business Communications Institute, a national firm of management training consultants specializing in cross-cultural communication. She also taught courses in Communication Studies and Change Management at Dominican College of San Rafael, California. Peck received her degree in Communication Studies from Northwestern University.
Peck founded and currently chairs the Corporate Diversity Alliance, a network representing 28 Fortune 500 companies committed to the successful integration of diversity initiatives and promoting diversity in the Chicago area. She is the winner of many awards for creative excellence in communication and training programs. Her speaking engagements have included The Conference Board, Stanford University, the University of Chicago, the Cornell School of Industrial Relations and the Human Resources Management Association.
Peck co-authored and participated in the development of "Expect the Best" (starring Phylicia and Ahmad Rashad); "I'm in Charge" (a consumer assertiveness education program used by hundreds of thousands of employees in several hundred companies); "How to Make Meetings Work" (Wyden Books, 9th printing); and "Boomerang: A Management Training Program in Equal Employment Opportunity."
