The Ethnic Handbook: A Guide to the Cultures and Traditions
of Chicago's Diverse Communities. She has conducted three research
projects on race, ethnicity and media coverage at Northwestern University.
Linton spent
20 years in community journalism at Lerner Newspapers in Chicago,
the last five years as the executive editor. She was president of
the Chicago Headline Club, the local chapter of the Society of Professional
Journalists 1990-1991. She was vice president/print of the Chicago
chapter of the Association of Women Journalists in 1997.
Linton won
two Peter Lisagor Awards, one for reporting in 1983, and the other
for editorials in 1984.
